ALLEVIATE THE SUFFERINGS IN RUGIPO

It is no longer news that the workforce in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, owo is currently on industrial action.

The strike action is predicated on non payment of 6 months arreas, low minimum wage that ever existed in any sister tertiary institution of learning.

The low minimum wage is #18000 which had been since 2009 and still till date with the hyper inflationary cost of living.

Other several factors if expressed would be an eyesore to the reading public.

Our dear Governor, Dr.Aiyedatiwa Orimisan once extended a benevolent mind to clear some of the backlog arreas inherited from his predecessor and this urge earned him celebrated admiration from the entire workforce.

It is easy to recall that during his campaign visit to Owo or when passing owo to Akokoland, the Governor witnessed encomiums from Rugipo staff and on such occasions he stopped to accept the warm applaud and offer promises.

One was not left to the memory that the song in the mouth of every Rugipo staff then was that ” Aiye ti da tiwa ‘.O da ti wa, O di rorun”

My dear sitting Governor, you are a populist and the visitor to the institution, God has used you to make a difference at the onset and same God is still on the throne, therefore, complete the good work you have started to alleviate the sufferings in Rugipo.

Your intervention today will go into history.Several deaths are being recorded in the institution, pensioners are suffering untold hardship as many could not buy drugs to attend to ailments.

The staffers are becoming socially debased as many cannot feed their homes, pay school fees of their children and meet up with other challenges. These situations deserve your kind attention.

My dear Governor, this is the time to rescue Rugipo and put smiles on their faces. The good you do today will make ways for the future.

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has come of age.The institution deserves your attention like anyother lnstitution in our Sunshine state..Let the subvention be increased to meet urgent needs on the development of the institution.

The academic culture in the institution , the future of the old and new intakes should not suffer.

An hungry man is an angry man, therefore, lam appealing for a compassion from our amiable Governor to clear the outstanding arreas, increase the subvention and cause the institution to tap out prudent internally revenue generation.

Let the song continues:”O da ti wa, O di rorun”.God be with you.
