BE Alive To Your Responsibilities – Ogundele Charges Ondo Workers

The Ondo State Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, has charged workers in the state to wake up to their responsibilities in the new year 2023.

Ogundele gave the charge while speaking with journalists shortly after an inspection tour of offices in the governor’s office, Alagbaka, Akure.

The Head of Service, who paid unscheduled inspection visits to the offices, said the idea was to ensure officers were on their desks and attending to their duties as required.

While expressing satisfaction with the conduct of workers from his findings during the inspection, the Head of Service, however, called on those who were found wanting to brace up, as there would be no room for indolence in service delivery this year.

According to him, the unscheduled visit would be a continuous one and would extend to all ministries and extra-ministerial departments in the state.

Ogundele stressed that the execution of the government’s policies and programmes lies on the shoulders of civil servants.

He said the implementation of the government’s programmes this year should be driven faster than before.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the office of Establishment and Training, Mrs Funke Dare-Atunse, who accompanied the Head of Service on the inspection tour, said nothing short of excellent service delivery would be expected from the workers this year.

While lauding the government for the welfare of the workforce, Dare-Atunse emphasised the need for civil servants to reciprocate the government’s gesture with their diligent service.

One of the officers who spoke with newsmen in his office, Mr. Desmond Alabi applauded the visit by the Head of Service, saying it would serve as a morale booster for workers.
