Delta state government has offered apologies for the hitches that were witnessed at the ongoing 21st edition of the national sports festival.

The state commissioner of information, Charles Aniagwu in a media chat last Thursday at the Media centre at Stephen Keshi stadium, in Asaba described the hitches as minimal and banal to such large events.
He confirmed that the abrupt change in the schedule of events were necessitated by the final touches been made on facilities in some of the venues earlier assigned to host some of the events.
According to him, efforts were been stepped up to address scarce pressing issues bordering on accommodation, epileptic water and power supply to camps where the athletes and officials were domicile.
The state commissioner for information Charles Aniagwu admitted that there were hitches here and there, he quickly stated that the challenges were however surmountable.
Aniagwu assured that the usual challenges that kept cropping up since the official opening of the fiesta were been tackled head long.
He reassured that the host state posses the capacity to suppress any challenge that may arise, while reassuring the over 10,000 sports visitors that the host state has deployed the necessary resources to mould their visit to a memorable one.
According to him, the festival is programmed to reenergize the espirit the corp of national unity., adding that the games is beyond state athletes competing to win, rather it is to ginger and to keep alive the spirit of national unity.
