Give Your Protest a Human Face, Ondo HOS  Appeals To NLC,TUC

Ondo State Government has appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (NUT) to give the ongoing strike a human face.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure by the Director of Information, in the office of the Head of Service (HOS), Sina Adeyeye.

The statement  unedited: “Note with concern the on-going strike action called by the Labour Leadership across the country particularly as it affects Ondo State.”

“While we are not averse to the right of the union to exercise their right to protest against perceived unwanted policies, it is our wish that the protest should be given a human face so as not to ground government business.”

“We appreciate the NLC and TUC for emphasizing that the protest is not targeted at the Ondo State Government based on the Government/Labour harmonious relationship and the gains achieved so far.”

“Based on this, we wish to enjoin labour to remain civil and peaceful such that critical business of government can go on during this protest. Workers, particularly senior ones who may wish to render their services should not be hindered in the over all interest of the state.”

“Be rest assured, that the Akeredolu-led administration remains committed to workers’ welfare as ever.”

Sina Adeyeye,

Director Information,

Office of the HOS
