Engineer Victor Adeola has been re-elected as the National President of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO) Alumni Association Worldwide for a second term.
CSP Adeola was re-elected during the national convention held at the Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, alongside 10 other national officers.
The electoral officer, Comrade Kunle Ibikunle, declared Adeola and the other contestants duly elected, with a total of 85 votes cast. Ibikunle disclosed that 90 delegates were expected from six chapters, but five were absent, resulting in all 85 votes going to the unopposed candidates.
Other newly elected officers include:Mr. Adeyefa Bankole – Vice National President, Mrs. Jumoke Arowolo – National Auditor I,Mr. Ademola Olayode – National Secretary, Mr. Raymond Adeleye – National Treasurer, Ms. Omoye Adeola – Assistant General Secretary, Otunba Abubakar Adedina – Director of Organization, Mr. Oniye Adegoke – National Auditor II, Mr. Samuel Adulewon – Public Relations Officer, Mr. Adekanmi Adeola – Chief Whip, Mr. Oniye Felix – Financial Secretary.
In his acceptance speech, CSP Adeola described the election as a “new dawn,” assuring members that the newly inaugurated executives would hit the ground running to continue and complete all ongoing projects of the association.
He expressed appreciation to all delegates for their belief in his vision and for returning him to office for a second term.
The president announced that the association would soon establish a comprehensive database for active and financial members. As part of this initiative, members will receive identification cards with unique membership numbers after the payment of annual dues.
According to him:”It is time things are done properly and as expected. Going forward, a standard will be set—every active member must belong to a local chapter to fully participate in the association’s activities, lend their voice on key issues, and enjoy the benefits due to members.”
He congratulated all newly elected chapter chairmen and encouraged them to bring forward impactful ideas and projects that would benefit their members.
“To the management team, I look forward to a cordial working relationship. And to the great Students’ Union of our institution, I promise continued harmonious collaboration. You have an elder in us—always,” he concluded.
