The Peoples United By Sports (PUBS) has congratulated Sunshine Queens FC on their recent promotion to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Elite League.
In a personally signed message made available to newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Seun Betiku, President of PUBS, commended the players, coaching crew, and management of the team for their dedication and hard-earned success.
Betiku urged the management of the team to immediately roll up their sleeves and begin early preparations ahead of the 2025/26 NWFL season, with a strong emphasis on prioritizing players’ welfare.
“The promotion is done and dusted. The next line of action is to strengthen and fortify the team with more experienced players to complement the efforts of the heroines who made the promotion possible,” he said.
He further stressed the importance of building a solid foundation for the team’s sustainability in the NWFL, calling on the Ondo State Government and other key stakeholders for full support.
“We must begin working toward the long-term sustainability of Sunshine Queens in the NWFL, and that requires consistent backing from the state government and the football community in Ondo State.
As a reputable organisation, PUBS proudly identifies with Sunshine Queens and we urge all football stakeholders in the state to come together and support the team’s continued success.”
