NO CAUSE FOR ALARM: ADC CANDIDATE, NIYI AKINGUNOLA, TELLS SUPPORTERS AMIDST ADC LEADERSHIP COURT RULING

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Hon. Niyi Akingunola, has urged his supporters and the good people of the constituency not to entertain any fear or apprehension over the recent Federal High Court judgment affecting the leadership of the party.

Akingunola, in a statement signed by Mr Obadehin Ebenezer, his Head of Media and Public Relations and released to journalists in Ondo town on Thursday, described the development as an attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to distract the ADC, having realised the growing determination of Nigerians to vote overwhelmingly for the ADC in 2027.

He maintained that the judgment is a mere academic excercise on the part purveyors and would not derail the party’s political aspirations, particularly as the ADC leadership had rejected the ruling and announced plans to challenge it through the appropriate judicial channels.

He further argued that a court of coordinate jurisdiction cannot sit on appeal over or overturn the decision of another court of equal jurisdiction, referring to the earlier judgment recognising the Senator David Mark-led National Working Committee by thesame Federal High Court.

Akingunola urged party members and supporters to remain resolute, peaceful and focused, insisting that the ongoing legal challenge is a settled matter that cannot weaken the party’s determination to provide Ondo People and Nigerians with a credible political alternative.

The ADC candidate described the growing support for the party in Ondo East/West and accross the country, most particularly is the massive turnout at its recent rallies in Sokoto and Kebbi states as evidence of Nigerians’ determination to reclaim their country from economic hardship, insecurity and poor governance.

Maintaining that the ADC is the Party to beat in Ondo and therefore called on supporters across Ondo East/West to remain united and committed to the ADC, stressing that the party’s mission to provide purposeful leadership and a credible alternative to Nigerians remained unshaken.

He concluded that no legal or political distraction would diminish his commitment to the people of Ondo East/West or the collective struggle for a better Nigeria.
