The 18 Local Government Chairmen in Ondo State have thrown their support behind the Tinubu/Datiwa Half a Million Walk slated for April 1, 2025, which will take off from the Ondo State Government House gate.

The endorsement came during a courtesy visit by the coordinator of the Tinubu/Datiwa half a million walk, Hon. Kehinde Akinrotoye (Bonsue), who doubles as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Sport, alongside members of his committee, to the office of the Akure South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Dr. Gbenga Fasua, who also serves as Chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON).

Speaking during the visit, Fasua, on behalf of other local government chairmen present at the courtesy visit appreciated the committee for considering local government chairmen as key partners in ensuring the success of the event. He noted that the walk would not only highlight the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa but also promote physical fitness.

“This is a healthy exercise, and I encourage everyone to participate actively in the walk,” he said.
Earlier, Hon. Kehinde Akinrotoye (Bonsue) solicited the support of the local government chairmen for the successful staging of the event. He explained that the initiative is aimed at showcasing the achievements of both the President and the Governor. “I’m here with my committee to seek your support and that of other local government chairmen to ensure the success of this event,” he said.
