Ondo State All Star Veterans has decorated the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Segun Omoyofunmi; Chairman, Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya; and Founder/President of Fruit of Faith Ministry Wonderland, Akure, Prophet Jimoh John Oyedotun, as patrons.
The colourful event took place at the Ondo State Sports Complex, in Akure.
Speaking at the ceremony, President, All Stars Veterans, Hon. Abayomi Opeoluwa, commended the trio for their contributions to the development of sports in the state.
Abayomi urged them not to be distracted but to continue contributing their quota to the growth of football and sports generally in Ondo State.
Responding, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Segun Omoyofunmi, thanked the All Stars Veterans for the honour of being chosen as one of the “retired but not tired” patrons.
Omoyofunmi disclosed that his ministry is ready to partner with the association for the rapid development of sports in the state.
“This is a great association that I am pleased to identify with. We halted activities on this pitch a few weeks ago to allow smooth arrangements, but when I saw the request of All Stars Veterans to use the pitch, I gave express approval,” he said.
On his part, ODSFA Chairman, Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya, expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the All Stars Veterans for the recognition, assuring them of his unwavering support at all times.
He also called on the association to stand behind his administration in its drive to achieve set goals.
“The biggest judge of every human is his heart,” Ogbonnaya declared, while urging all relevant stakeholders to rally behind Sunshine Stars FC and regard the team as their collective pride and darling.
Prophet Jimoh John Oyedotun also assured the association of his continued support.
“I’m a member of Ondo State All Star Veterans and I will continue to pray for the upliftment of the association.”
