The Ondo State Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya, has said that the quality of leadership and administration remains a critical factor in determining the success or failure of any organisation.

Odusanya stated this on Tuesday while receiving members of the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (CIPAN), Ondo State Chapter, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Akure.
According to the Head of Service, leadership comes with enormous responsibilities and often attracts criticism, but effective public administrators should be able to utilise such criticism constructively to improve service delivery and meet the expectations of the people.
He commended CIPAN for its contributions to capacity building among public servants in the state through regular training programmes and assured the institute of the state government’s continued support.
Odusanya also reiterated his service delivery mantra, “Try your best. Be the best,” urging public servants across the state to give their utmost in support of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s “OUR EASE” development agenda.
He described the institute as a platform for raising professional standards and preparing members for leadership roles.
“CIPAN is to raise the standard of management and members to be able to aspire to any leadership position,” he said.
The Head of Service further praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to strengthening public administration through sponsorship of relevant training programmes.
“You have said it all. Mr Governor is trying to strengthen administration through sponsorship of relevant trainings. I can assure you that we will do more. We will encourage more training of staff on administration and leadership,” he added.
Earlier, the Chairman of CIPAN in Ondo State, Dr Gabriel Fakilede, congratulated Odusanya on his appointment as Head of Service and expressed confidence that his tenure would usher in significant progress for the state’s civil service.
Fakilede attributed his optimism to Odusanya’s track record of excellence, dedication and professionalism.
He also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his support for the institute, particularly through the annual sponsorship of members to attend professional trainings and conferences.
In her remarks, the Vice Chairman of the institute, Mrs Oluwafunmilayo Oso, appealed for the extension of training opportunities to junior workers through regular in-house capacity-building programmes.
She thanked the Head of Service for his commitment to CIPAN and assured him of the institute’s support towards achieving success in office.
