A SPECIAL APPEAL TO GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA

I wish to join the lovers of democracy and good governance to rejoice with our amiable Governor in Ondo – State His Excellency (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his victory as pronounced by the supreme court .

The victory is not only to the Governor but much more to the good people of Ondo – State that voted massively for him during the election.

One good thing out of the judgement is that there is no more detraction from oppositions and His Exellency should now face governance to herald his promises as contained in his campaign manifestos to the people of Ondo – State Ondo during the last election.

My first appeal is that the Governor should always find time to move round and tour all corners of the State at sacrificed times and not to rely absolutely on the reports from his special advisers who may have to be pleasers of Mr.Governor whose business is to give him the information soothing to his ears but detrimental to the populace.

For instance, the oke- Aro road is a dead trap and needs urgent attention from Mr.Governor.The illogical argument by Allen Sowore on criticisms about this road do not hold water.

Allen Sowore should note that if Gov Aiyedatiwa is not a sitting Governor in Ondo – State he can never be a special adviser to him.

Mr.Governor is a populist and advisers in whichever portfolio should assist him to know about the yearnings and plights of the people.

Ajasin, our reverred late Governor defined Democracy as you ” talk and l talk.”Abraham Lincoln also defined” Government as the government of the people by the people and for the people”. It implies therefore that the sincere opinions of the people must not be thrown under the carpet when such are made and that there should not be any taxation without representation.

Governor Aiyedatiwa should try and move round Oke- aro Street down to ldanre and see what people are passing through to enable him address the plights of the people that voted him into power.

In the Education sector, the Commissioner for Education , Science and Technology, Prof Igbekele Ajibefun has started to make impacts and in a way enhancing the image of the State positively.

My good friend, the Honourable Commissioner of Health, a one time Governing Council member of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, owo Dr Banji Ajaka is also doing well and making impacts.

On other appeal to our dear Governor, as a sitting one,is to create room for media briefing to intimate the public about his performances and listen to the yearnings of the public through involvement. The plea made by Prophet Oluwamodede, a cleric in Akure, Ondo – State is a good one especially on Oke -Aro road..There are several churches and other economic gainful centres in Oke – Aro down to ldanre whose well being are tied to good road. The road is not only unmotorable but fast becoming early grave to Okada riders and other passers bye.

Something urgent is expected from you as a succour because 2027 is almost at hand.

It is imperative to say that during any rainfall the pitiful State of all roads, even the popular Adesida, Arakale and Oda roads to say the least are worst of.Any torrential downfall leads to flooding and vehicle owners are always at the receiving end .Kindly act fast and
extend olive hands to other roads within Akure the state capital and other local governments in Ondo – State.

During your electoral campaigns you toured the entire state seeking for votes and now as a Governor, the sitting should also see you round the entire state over and over again for mutual benefits.
