Adetimehin’ Removal Stands! As protest Rocks Ondo APC Secretariat

Aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) members on Monday thronged the party secretariat to demand the removal of the State Chairman of the Party, Engr Ade Adetimehin.

Led by Former State Youth Leader, and the spokesperson for the aggrieved members, Barr. Olutayo Babalayo said the suspended Chairman should vacate office to defend the allegations levelled against him.

It would be recalled that Adetimehin was suspended over the weekend by the leaders of his ward in Ofosu, in the Idanre Local Government Area of the state for making a statement that could cause anarchy.

The protesters based their support for his removal on allegations that also border on doctoring of chairmanship and counsellor’s list and collection of money illegally for favouritism.

Babalayo, while calming down the aggrieved members protesting at the party secretariat, said a five-man committee had been put in place to investigate the said issues.

According to Babalayo, popularly known as Olu-T, Adetimehin had been summoned by a 5-man committee panel.

The chairman of the committee to investigate the allegations includes; Chairman: Hon. Akindele Adeniyi,
Vice Chairman: Hon. Dr Adeyemi Olayemi, Secretary: Comrade Gani Mohammed, Members: Mr Rahman Rotimi Dauda and Mr Dare Boboye.

“We want peace in our state, we want peace in our party“.

”Some people like us got involved to know what we are protesting is the misrule and maladministration by Mr Ade Adetimehin, and we just believed that when the party members are aggrieved, they have to vent their anger, and we are trying as much as possible that our guys don’t create any problem“.

“We need peace, that is why some of us are here to demobilize the protesters.
A five-man committee has been set up to look at those issues raised and even me, I am going to appear before the committee,” he said.

Babalayo, however, urged the suspended Chairman to make himself available before the committee to clear his name to avoid further crisis.
