Aiyedatiwa Orders Immediate Payment Of 2017 Salary Arrears, Pensioners’ Palliatives

Report says Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has ordered immediate payment of January 2017 salary arrears of Ondo State workers owed by the administration of Olusegun Mimiko.

Late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had earlier cleared 6 out of 7months owed by Mimiko’s administration.

At a meeting with Labour leaders yesterday, it was gathered that the Governor also directed the Accountant General to immediately pay pensioners’ arrears of palliative for the month of November and December, 2023.

OUTCOME OF THE MEETING HELD BETWEEN THE GOVERNOR OF ONDO STATE AND ORGANISED LABOUR ON 18TH JANUARY 2024 AT GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, ALAGBAKA AKURE

After extensive deliberation between His Excellency and the entire Organised Labour in Ondo State, the following resolutions were reached.

Mr. Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa approved and directed the Accountant General of the State on the immediate payment of year 2017 salary arrears (January 2017 salary immediate payment).

His Excellency further directed the Accountant General on the payment of pensioners’ arrears of palliative for the month of November and December, 2023.
Mr. Governor sympathized with the workers in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo over nonpayment of salary arrears. His Excellency further promised to look into how payment will be made as soon as possible.

Flowing from the above resolutions, the entire Organised Labour of Ondo State profoundly appreciates His Excellency for his magnanimity towards the welfare of workers in the State mostly at this critical time.

His Excellency’s leadership and commitment to the welfare of workers in Ondo State have not gone unnoticed. We commend His Excellency’s dedication to creating an enabling environment for workers which will contribute to overall development of our State.

Organised Labour further appreciates Mr. Governor for his timely approval and promise for assurance of continuous support in His Excellency administration’s efforts to build a prosperous and inclusive Ondo State.
