As workers in Ondo State join their counterparts across the world to mark Workers’ Day 2026, the State Head of Service, Bayo Philip, has congratulated the workforce, noting that there are many reasons to celebrate.
Philip made this known in his goodwill message to commemorate the 2026 Workers’ Day.
He stated that workers in the state are faring well under the current administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. He added that while some states are still grappling with promotions from 2023, 2024, or 2025, workers in Ondo State have already begun receiving their 2026 promotion letters, complete with immediate consequential financial benefits.
He further disclosed that within the first year of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, over fifty officers have been elevated to the positions of Permanent Secretary and equivalent ranks within the civil service.
The Head of Service also commended the prompt payment of monthly salaries to serving officers, as well as pensions and gratuities to retirees, which, he noted, are consistently paid between the 24th and 26th of each month. He added that this is part of several welfare initiatives introduced for workers.
While congratulating workers on the 2026 celebration, Philip urged them to take advantage of the government’s commitment to their welfare by rededicating themselves to efficient service delivery in line with the administration’s OUR EASE development agenda.
