Bet9ja OSFL: IASFC pip Kingrate FC To Qualify For Central Senatorial District playoffs

Lone goal from Mathew Israel was all Ijapo Ages Stars FC (IASFC)  needed to defeat Kingrate FC in the ongoing Bet9ja Ondo State Football League (OSFL). 

The second match of the day played at Ejioba High School,Oba-Ile saw both sides displaying football artistry to the admiration of the spectators. 

Ijapo Ages Stars FC attacked their host aggressively in the first 25 minutes of action with the intent to get early lead, which never came until 27minutes.

As Mathew Israel placed the ball into the left corner of the net from a rebound to give his side the needed lead.

Kingrate FC reacted swiftly to level with their visitors but met a well coordinated team from the midfield to defence with their Goalkeeper, Ayomide Francis well positioned to deal with the host aerial balls, on the other hands, Kingrate FC Goalkeeper agonizingly denied Ijapo Ages Stars FC a second goal before the center referee signalled end of the first half.

The restart of the game failed to produce further goal as Ijapo Ages Stars FC kept the three maximum points in the kitty.

The result placed Ijapo Ages Stars FC on top their group and qualified along side Barrack Eagles to represent Akure North in the Central Senatorial District (CSD) playoffs.

Meanwhile Right- Hand FC had earlier defeated Fortune Rangers 1- 0 in a game spectators described as ceremonial encounter as both teams  already out of the competition.

Ijapo Ages Stars FC Coach, Adeola Adetomiwa commended his players for playing according to the game plan, charging them to brace up for the challenges ahead.

He added that the competition has just started, saying they should be more focused and determined to outplay any of their opponents in the playoffs.  

He said: “Let me tell you that as we qualify in Akure North, we will now go and slug it out with other best teams in other local governments in Central Senatorial Districts of the state to determine which team is going to represent central senatorial District in the super Eight.” 

On this note, I will admonish all of you to take our training more serious , all we need to do now  is to go out there and prove to the whole state why we are Ijapo Ages Stars FC,” he said.
