Thirty pupils of St Agnes Primary School, Odo-Alafia, Ondo, have received new school uniforms under the Back-to-School Initiative of Bolaji Omotayo Daramola (BOD), in a move aimed at promoting access to education and supporting families in the community.
The initiative, which forms part of Daramola’s ongoing efforts to improve the welfare and educational opportunities of children, seeks to ease the financial burden on parents while encouraging pupils to remain committed to their studies.
Speaking during the presentation, Daramola emphasised the importance of creating an enabling environment for children to thrive academically.
According to him, education extends beyond the classroom, noting that children are more motivated to attend school and actively participate in learning when they feel confident and comfortable among their peers.
“A neat school uniform helps to boost a child’s self-esteem and prevents them from feeling inferior to their classmates,” he said.
“Investing in children today is an investment in the future of Ondo Kingdom.”
The Headmistress of St Agnes Primary School commended Daramola for the gesture, describing it as a significant contribution to the development of education in the community.
She said the donation would not only encourage the beneficiaries but also provide relief for parents facing financial challenges.
The headmistress further praised Daramola’s commitment to improving the lives of the people, stating that individuals with such dedication to education and community development deserve opportunities to serve in public office.
Over the years, the Back-to-School Initiative has remained one of Daramola’s key interventions aimed at supporting the younger generation and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
Daramola, who is the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, reiterated his commitment to championing people-centred programmes and policies that positively impact communities across Ondo Kingdom.
He maintained that quality representation should be reflected in meaningful investments in the lives of the people, particularly children and young people, who represent the future of society.
