European football agents have promised to select the best talents as the much-anticipated Akure United International Scouting Programme kicks off today at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.
The agents gave the assurance upon their arrival in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Sunday.
They received a warm welcome, marked by traditional drumming and dancing, as part of activities preceding the commencement of the programme.
Ahead of the scouting exercise, the agents met with club owners and coaches at a pre-event seminar organised to sensitise them to the qualities they would be looking for in prospective players.
The agents urged the club owners and coaches to pass the information and guidance provided at the seminar on to their respective teams to ensure that the players are adequately prepared for the opportunity.
The lead consultant of Tubaba Football Scouting Network, Ayokunle Oluwatope, assured participants that the programme would be professionally organised.
He also urged the players to remain focused and disciplined, stressing the importance of teamwork in their pursuit of opportunities to advance their football careers.
“This is a great opportunity. Grab it and make the best use of it. I wish you all success,” Oluwatope said.
The 4- day programme is expected to provide aspiring footballers with an opportunity to showcase their talents before the visiting European football agents.
