FAKE NEWS: Ekimogun Roundtable Accepts Blogger’s Apology

The Ekimogun Roundtable, a socioeconomic group of all Ondo indigenes all over the world has accepted the apology of the management of Akiavicnews24, an online news platforms, which published an untrue report about some members of the group.

“The management of akiavicnews24 wishes to tender an apology to three notable Ondo town indigenes whose names and pictures were erroneously used in one of its recent report.” The news platform wrote.

“The concerned indigenes were Messer Kayode Fagun, Segun Adesemoye and Niyi Akingunola, we regret this action and want to tender our apology to the above named persons.” It added.

While reacting to this development, Ekimogun Roundtable in a statement released by its acting secretary Ms Christiana Ayodele said:
“We have on good Authority that the fake news in circulation is the handiwork of some unscrupulous elements whose identity we have decided to concealed for some strategic reasons.”

“However, we commend the management of Akiavicnews24 for demonstrating this high level of responsibility in owning up to such a critical error of judgment and unprofessional conduct.

“The sponsor of this smear campaign aginst the Roundtable should be reminded again that the Ondo people are getting wiser, hence, the old fashioned divide and rule strategies are fading out by the day.

“All other platforms that offferd themselves for this unprofessional and unethical raportage should take this as general warning that the Roundtable will not hesitate to take legal action” the group added.

The group equally appreciate the support so far received from all well meaning Ondo people towards their public office holders’ accountability project which it says has started yielding results with the acknowledgement of the contribution of the federal government in constituency projects allocation and funding during the commissioning of a project in the city just yesterday.

At least ondo people can now begin to see the efforts of the federal government at enhancing their socioeconomic wellbeing and addressing their infrastructural challenges.
