Sunshine Queens FC players, Joy Falegan has attributed her inclusion in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) team of the week to the hard work of her coaching crew led by Oladimeji Abimbola.
She said she wouldn’t have made the team of week without the support of her team mates, saying it’s all about team work and not individual achievement .
The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) had announced Joy Falegan alongside, Super Falcons and Naija Ratels captain, Onome Ebi, Edo Queens captain, Suliat Abideen and eight others as player of the week after match day two games in the women league.
Falegan while speaking with the team’s media, said the team of the week was for the entire team, adding that it’s the manifestation of the ability and capability of the coaches.
She added that the feat will spur her to do better in her subsequent matches, saying it’s a moral booster for the whole team, we will continue to put in our best for the club.
According to her, “I appreciate all my coaches and the management for the trust they reposed in me by giving me the opportunity to play.”
“Their words of encouragement, the believe they have in me was the secret of the feat.
She said: “I thank Coach Oladimeji Abimbola for converting me from midfield to center back, if he had not converted me, I may not have been anywhere to be found in the league”.
“I will never let him down, but will continue to work harder to become a better player.
“Whenever the coach gives me the opportunity to play, I will continue to give my all for him and the entire team.
” This is good news for our team and a sign that the future is bright.”
“We remain focused ahead of our next home match against Edo Queens on Wednesday”, she assures.
