The attention of the Tinubu/Datiwa Half a Million Walk has been drawn to a misleading and provocative statement issued by HAM Volunteers, targeting the personality of our State Coordinator, Hon. Kehinde Akinrotoye (Bonsue).
We call on Hon. Abiola Makinde to rein in his supporters and caution them against further spreading baseless attacks.
As a committed APC support group focused on the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we would have ignored these reckless outbursts, clearly the desperate cries of a drowning political camp clutching at straws.
Let it be clearly stated: Hon. Abiola Makinde himself championed the “No Third Term” agenda in Ondo Kingdom politics. He was the loudest voice against Hon. Iranola Akinlaja’s third-term bid and mobilised both young and old to stop that ambition.
He also opposed the senatorial ambition of former Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, publicly and privately declaring that there should never be a third term in our Federal Constituency.
So, what has changed after eight years? What exactly is Hon. Makinde now seeking?
Trending videos clearly show Hon. Makinde making a covenant with the people of Ondo Kingdom that he would never return for a third term.
As an Omoluabi, we urge Hon. Makinde to honour his promise. The people of Ondo Kingdom stand firm: “No Third Term”
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
The accusations of disloyalty against our principal only echo the timeless wisdom of Socrates: “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the losers.”
We remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and our leader, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who consistently stands with the people.
No amount of propaganda can rewrite history. The people of Ondo State know the truth. We urge HAM Volunteers and their sponsors to desist from targeting our principal.
This is not personal. Ondo Kingdom’s stand against a third term is a collective decision. Hon. Abiola Makinde remains a son of the soil, and we hold no grudge.
All we ask is simple: Respect your word. Honour your agreement.
