Herdsmen Attack In Ondo: Ibileke Jude Robert Still Missing

Residents of Ondo state, Relatives and friends of Ibileke Jude Robert are still in shock following the disappearance of the 36 year old who lost one of his workers on his farmland on the 2nd of November 2023, who had a clash with Fulani herders .

Ibileke Jude , a farmer had gone missing two days after herders invaded his farmland killing one of his workers.

It would be recalled that Fulani herders has been grazing on his farmland for months , destroying thousands of farm produce with little or no assistance from Relevant authorities to curb or stop the act from the herders .

Report says Ibileke’s workers were on the farmland on the said day when gun carrying herders in their usual way invaded the farmland with cows ambushed workers leading to the death of one them , Tope Ogunsusi .

Ibileke’s disappearance two days later has thrown the entire community in Akure south local government into darkness with many blaming the government for their negligence.

A community leader , Johnson Peters who spoke on behalf of the community where the heinous act was perpetrated described the non challant attitude of the Nigerian government as shameful.

” It’s incredibly shocking that this dastardly act happened in our community without any arrest or proactive measure to curb the act by our government, it’s sad and shocking “

Peters advised residents to be vigilant always even when they are not on their farmlands .

Similarly, wife of the deceased worker Mrs Ogunsusi whose husband was killed by the herders told journalists that she is still in shock that no arrest has been made since the sad incident occured .

” I’m still in shock that our security operatives are yet to make any arrests months after my husband was killed , Now we are still looking for Mr Ibileke’s body dead or alive , our leaders are failures” she concluded .

According to reports Farmers Herders clash which has rocked major parts of northern Nigeria , middle belt and southwest has killed 61, 000 people with 13 ,067 missing .

As the search for Ibileke Jude by security agents and local vigilantes’ continues , the government is advised to be proactive and curb the menace of clashes between farmers and herders which has led to death of innocent souls
