Hon. Olumbe Akinkugbe facilitates landmark 5MW power project for Ondo

A significant milestone has been achieved in Ondo State’s journey towards energy sufficiency as Lincs Power Energy Solutions performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a 5.megawatt (MW) power project.

Facilitated by Hon. Olumbe Akinkugbe, Executive Director Digital Exploration and Technical services Galaxy Backbone, the project is expected to provide reliable electricity to Ondo West and its environs, driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

The ceremony marked the beginning of the project’s construction phase, with Lincs Power Energy Solutions pledging to deliver the project as promised.

Plans are also underway to upgrade the power capacity to 20MW in the future.

Attended by dignitaries and stakeholders, including the Governor of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa who was ably represented by the Special Adviser on Energy, Dr Johnson, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, His imperial majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo who was ably represented by the Sasere of Ondo Kingdom, High Chief Adeduro and the Osemawe in Council, The Chairman of Ondo West local government, Hon Ayo Akinfolarin, political appointees, Community leaders and women representatives.

This ground breaking event signifies the beginning of the project’s construction phase.

The 5 MW power project is expected to provide reliable electricity to Ondo State and its environs, boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

Hon. Akinkugbe while delivering his welcome address, expressed his gratitude to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support towards achieving energy sufficiency in Ondo State.

The governor, represented by Dr. Johnson, Special Adviser on Energy, thanked Hon. Akinkugbe for his tireless efforts in facilitating the project and encouraged the community to rally behind the initiative.

The Osemawe, offered prayers for the facilitator and the project’s success, seeking divine guidance and protection.

The representative of Linc’s Energy Solutions, the company undertaking the project, the project manager, Otinniyi Adeyemi Micheal praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for his encouragement and assured the gathering that the project would be completed as promised.

He revealed that the power capacity would be upgraded to 20 megawatts, providing reliable electricity to Ondo State and its environs.
