Ijapo Estate Eagles Football Academy has marked another important milestone as the academy celebrates another anniversary during the ongoing King Kay Summer Cup 2026 in Akure.
The two-day summer football programme, organised under the Tubaba Football Scouting Academy Network Nigeria (TFSANN), is taking place at the Ijapo Housing Football Field from Friday, August 21, to Saturday, August 22, 2026.
The tournament brings together young footballers across different age categories, giving them an opportunity to gain valuable match experience, improve their skills and build confidence during the school holiday.
Teams including Ijapo Estate Eagles FA, CPC FC and Tubaba Football Academy are competing across the Under-10, Under-13 and Under-15/17 categories.
Speaking on the occasion, the Head of Academy of Ijapo Estate Eagles Football Academy, an affiliate of Tubaba Football Scouting Academy Network Nigeria, Comrade Oluwatope Ayokunle, commended the academy’s parents, guardians and players for their dedication and continued support.
Ayokunle said the progress recorded by the academy would not have been possible without the commitment of everyone involved, particularly the parents and guardians who continue to support the development of the young players.
One of the academy’s notable success stories is Precious Olaniyan, who began his football journey with Ijapo Estate Eagles at the age of nine.
Olaniyan went on to excel in grassroots competitions and later emerged as MVP of the NPFL-LaLiga U-15 Tournament in Ikenne, scoring eight goals. His impressive performances earned him an opportunity to join Beyond Limits Football Academy, where he has continued his development.
Olaniyan recently represented Beyond Limits Football Academy at the Gothia Cup in Sweden, gaining valuable international experience and further showcasing the talent developed through the grassroots football system.
The anniversary celebration is therefore not only about marking another year but also about celebrating the progress and achievements of the young players who have passed through the academy.
As the King Kay Summer Cup reaches its concluding stage, the young footballers will be hoping to finish strongly and make the most of the opportunity to showcase their abilities.
The kids will be given different exercises books, medals and various refreshments have been arranged for the soccer fiesta game.
Tubaba Football Scouting Academy Network Nigeria salutes Ijapo Estate Eagles Football Academy, its players, parents, guardians, coaches and supporters for their continued commitment to grassroots football development.
