Maintain Social Contract With Your Constituents, Ologbese Charges Senator Ipinsagba

All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Ondo State, Otunba Dele Ologbese has called on the Senator representing North Senatorial District of the State to ensure that the social contract between him and his constituents are sustainable.

Ologbese in a chat with newsmen in Akure the state capital said the beauty of democracy hinges on the ability of elected representatives to always do the biddings of the masses through promulgation of laws tailored towards alleviating their poor living conditions.

Some youths from Ondo North Senatorial District had in an open letter lashed out at Senator representing the District in the National Assembly, Jide lpinsagba, expressing regret for voting for him.

The youths under the aegis of Ondo North Youths Alliance from the six Local Governments areas comprising the Senatorial District, stated this in an open letter to Ipinsagba.

The youths noted that the lawmaker’s actions since assuming office were “too ridiculous”, lamenting that “You are aware of the open wound of Ondo North Youths, but instead of you administering relief peels, rather you intensify the pain.”

Otunba Ologbese opined that elected representatives are expected to demonstrate strong or unwavering will in ensuring that the overwhelming interests of the masses are placed far above personal or primordial interests.

The Coordinator of the Advocacy for Good Governance averred that any legislator who is heavily disconnected from his people or neglected his legislative responsibilities or assignments have broken the social contracts existing between him and his people which will attract severe consequences

According to him, “Senator Jide Ipinsagba, representing the North Senatorial District at the Red Chamber have no choice than to submit himself to the whims and caprices of the electorates whose back he rode to his current exalted position.”

He said:” People of North Senatorial District are no longer interested in propagandas or rhetorics of any sort from a leader that worth his salt, he must quickly swing into actions in carrying out physical constituency’s projects and facilitate federal projects which will impact his District positively.”

It’s transparently clear that people of his constituent have waited endlessly with nothing concrete to show for his full representation at the National Assembly, stressing that the people seemed to have lost total faith in his ability and capability in representing them at the Red Chamber”

“What his people wanted from him is demonstration of strong commitments towards alleviating their plights through effective representation.

“I therefore admonish Ipinshagba to be alive to his responsibilities by doing the right thing for his people to avoid being recalled from the Senate, saying that the ball is in his court to put smiles on the faces of those who voted him into office”.
