NWFL: Sunshine Queens Target Maximum Points Against Bayelsa Queens – Oladimeji

Sunshine Queens head coach, Abimbola Oladimeji has declared the readiness of his team to wreak Bayelsa Queens when they visit Ondo State next week Wednesday for the opening match of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

Abimbola said with the level of his team’s preparation and determination ahead of the tie against the 2021/22 NWFL champions, he is optimistic that the maximum points would be kept in the bag.

Bayelsa Queens had defeated Sunshine Queens 3-0 during the 2021-22 season at the Ondo State Sports complex.

Abimbola disclosed that he was the assistant coach of the team two seasons ago when Bayelsa defeated us here in Akure, adding that as the head coach ,he won’t allow the repeat of the 2021/22 season.

He expressed confident in the current squad of the team, saying the team is a blend of young and experience players that are capable of causing havoc on any team.

He said: “We have only four players with us now from the squad that we paraded during the 2021-22 season, don’t forget that we are just coming from championship where we came second on the log.

“Our opponent on the other side were the league contender last season, nevertheless, we are going to show them the stuff we are made off and cause them an upset when the league commences on Wednesday.

“We are ready to defeat Bayelsa Queens here, we are not going to lose to them again, that defeat won’t repeat itself again.

“I have full confidence in the current squad , they are youth , experienced and ready to play and triumph”, he stated.
