The former two term Member House of Representative in Ondo Federal Constituency Hon Joseph Iranola Akinlaja and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress party has expressed his sympathy with the people of Ondo kingdom that were affected by the unfortunate flood which carted away valuable properties in the kingdom.
Akinlaja tagged the flooding as unfortunate. He sends his message of hope to the affected individuals from his medical check up in United Kingdom where the online news reached him.
Hon Akinlaja appealed to the government for a periodical channelisation of water ways as a preventive measures to solving the issues of flooding in the kingdom
The septuagenarian recalled how the periodical dredging of the waterways were applied in ensuring free flow of rivers without any effects during his era as MHR representing Ondo Federal Constituency, therefore, the appeal mentioned above should be seen as a necessity.
He thanked Oba Victor Ademefun Kiladejo Jilo III for his swift response to ‘on the spot assessment’ of the affected areas as a true king whose better life of his habitants are essential to his reign as a king.
Inanjo Ogiri osa, begged the people of the kingdom as a matter of importance not to dump refuse in the drainage as another means of reducing flooding in the society.
We thanked God Almighty that no life was lost to the flooding and pray that God Almighty will replenish all the damaged and lost properties.
He appealed to government agencies particularly NEMA to come to the rescue of the affected people.
