Ondo FA Election : Dele-Ajayi Wins Again… Promises More Football Marketing, Development 

Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi has been re-elected as the Chairman of Ondo State Football Association (FA).

The incumbent had defeated his closest rival, Otunba Dele Ologbese 12 to 9 votes to emerge as the winner in a  keenly contested election held at the Police Officers Mess in Akure the state capital.

Twenty two delegates voted , while Otunba Dele Ajayi polled 12 votes , Otunba Dele Ologbese scored 9 votes and one vote voided.

Ajayi, while speaking with newsmen after the election assured that the state FA under his leader will focus more on Football marketing and development.

While commending the peaceful conduct of the exercise, Ajayi promised to collaborate with all stakeholders for the progress of the round leather game.

He urged all members of the association to make themselves conversant with relevant provisions of the FA statute 

He said: “My plan is to develop Football for the next four years. We are not making money from football in Ondo State and we work hard to change the narrative.

“Presently, I am the chairman of players status and arbitration,I know what is coming up from other states. We will give enabling environment to our clubs to thrive,” he said.

The representative of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Oluwole Oloworemo, commended the electoral body for a job well-done.

Oloworemo later appreciated the runner-up, Otunba Dele Ologbese, for his spirit of sportsmanship after the election by embracing the winner of the process.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Barr. Olusola Oke, who noted that the election was particularly challenging, appreciated the aspirants and delegates for their cooperation.

Oke however charged them to represent the state well both at the local and the national level 

“The task was challenging, but at the same time quite exciting. In summary, it was a success,so in the interest of football in Ondo State, they should give us a good representation,”he said.
