PDP Inducts Barrister Akinsiku, Ambassador Oluwateru As BOT Members

The leadership of People Democratic party (PDP) in line with the constitutional provisions of the party, chapter II,part IX (1) has inducted Ondo born grassroots politician, Hon. Afolabi Akinsiku and former Deputy Governor of the state, Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru and four others as members of Board of Trustees to represent both Ondo and Ekiti states in the South West region of the country.

The former member of house of Assembly will hold the position for a five -year single term.

Hon. Afolabi Akinsiku was inducted alongside Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru and others at the seventy-sixth (76th) meeting of the Board Of Trustees (BOT) meeting today 13th of Feb 2024, at the party National Secretariat Abuja.

The National Chairman of the BOT Hon Adolphus Wabara introduced the legal luminary Hon Afolabi Akinsiku as the representative of both Ondo and Ekiti states in the Southwest region of Nigeria. The office, he will hold for a five-year single term.

Recalled that Hon Chief Segun Adegoke a former Commissioner in Ondo state during the Late Dr Olusegun Agagu’s administration had occupied the same office in the past.

In his remark, Hon Bar Afolabi Akinsiku thanked God Almighty who spared his life and bestowed on him the opportunity to serve at the pinnacle in the organogram and structure next to the national convention.

He said: “I appreciated the founding fathers of PDP, acting Chairman of Board of Trustees Aldophus Wabara (Phd), PDP Deputy Chairman South, Senator Arapaja, PDP Vice Chairman Southwest, Hon Alhaji Ajisafe, and the entire National Working Committee for believing in the younger generation to be involved in the policy formulation and implementation at the highest echelon of the party structure, recognizing the sacrifices and impacts he made in the party both in local and state chapters and taking into cognizance of these at the national level will spur him to do more to make more impart in the national politics. He promised to justify his inclusion to the Board, he said”.

Akinsiku also appreciated his leader and mentor the former Governor of Ondo state Dr Olusegun Rahman Mimiko whose mentorship threw him into the limelight which made him recognised by the national body of our great party PDP

He stressed that he would ensure all cracks are mended in the party, probity, accountability, and transparency in all dealings shall be his watchword with strata of party membership, he promised to ensure a level play ground for those who will aspire for any political office.

It is worthy of note that Hon Afolabi Akinsiku has the record of serving Ondo West Constituency 1 as a two-term Member House of Assembly in the 6th and 7th Assembly a record no one has broken to date in the constituency, he also served as the Commissioner 1 in the House of Assembly Service Commission in a five-year single term.
He was also the Director General of Campaign Committee PDP Ondo West L.G.A in the last General election in 2023.
