Raw Gold FC and Ijapo Ages Stars FC have won their first match in the opening game super eight of the second edition of Bet9ja Ondo State Football League (ODFL).
Raw Gold defeated KB FC of Ikare 2-0 in the first match of the super eight Bet9ja league played at the Ondo State Sports complex in Akure.
Ijapo Ages Stars FC also got the better side of KFC Okitipupa with 3-2 victory in the second match of the encounter with both sides displaying football artistry to the admiration of the spectators.
The results of the Bet9ja matchday one of the super eight means that both Raw Gold and Ijapo Ages Stars FC have qualified for the semifinal slated for Thursday.
In a chat with newsmen , Raw Gold FC Gaffer, Gold Busayo said both teams played very well.
“I’m from Ikare I know the team very well, they never disappointed with what I saw in the match. I know them very well,” he said.
He commended the officiating of the game and hailed the committee for a job well done, saying,”it was a balanced game”, commending his players for playing according to instructions.
With God on our side, we will try our best in our next match. KB FC Ikare coach, Oshasono Ojo said he was not happy with the outcome of the match.
“I’m not happy with my players, ” he said.
Ijapo Ages Stars FC, Head coach, Adeola Adetomiwa thanked God for the victory , saying his side will improve their next match on Thursday.
Adeola added that he would go back to the drawing board to correct some errors observed in the match.
He said: “The organisers have done well with this competition, at least this tournament will keep most of our young players busy and at the same time giving them opportunity to display their talents.
“I believe two or three players will be picked from the competition, in fact they have done well.”
KFC Okitipupa Coach , Abiodun Egbeayelo, conceded that the two teams played very well, saying,”in football, winners must emerge our opponents made use of their chances.”
