A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism in Ondo State, Hon. Femi Adekanmbi, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed his victory on Wednesday.
A 5-man panel of judges led by Justice Haruna Tsammani had ruled that various petitions from the former vice president and the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and former governor of Anambra state who was also the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) at the 2023 general election as well as that of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) lacked merit and thereby affirmed the APC presidential candidate, Tinubu, as validly elected and sworn-in as the President of Nigeria.
Adekanmbi in a statement on Thursday in Akure, Ondo State capital, described the affirmation of the president’s election as a victory for democracy.
He said the tribunal’s ruling was a plus for the value-based leadership of President Tinubu, and his untiring commitment to deal with the multi faceted challenges bedeviling the country.
With the elections and tribunals now behind, President Tinubu can now delivered to Nigerians his renewed and energized focus on delivering his vision of a unified, peaceful and prosperous nation.
“He should now work harder to alleviate the suffering of the masses who gave him the victory,” he said
Adekanmbi urged the opposition to accept the verdict, not heat up the polity but join hands with the government to birth a better country.
