The Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Hon. Bamidele Ologunloluwa,has said one of his major projects is professionalising clubs under the agency and development of football at the grassroots.
Ologunloluwa,who said this in Akure after meeting with some sport enthusiasts, said he is ready to tap from the wealth of experience of relevant football stakeholders across board to nurture talents to stardom in Ondo State.
Ologunloluwa added that there would be a series of grassroots football competitions across the 18 local governments to discover talents that will take the state owned teams to it’s lofty heights.
Ologunloluwa lauded the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for being a sports friendly governor and prioritizing the welfare of athletes and players to perform effectively.
He emphasized the importance of supporting grassroots football, saying,”it is essential for discovering new talents and producing the next generation of football superstars, like Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo, who brought glory to Nigerian football.
“This is to ensure that football is developed to the next level in the state.”
The ODSFA boss assured staff, players and team officials of a conducive environment, again, stressing on high level of professionalism to perform optimally.
