Yusuf Seeks Members’ Support as Ondo Veterans All Stars Inaugurates Executives

Ahead of the inauguration of newly elected executives of the Ondo State Veterans All Stars, the association’s president, Rafiu Yusuf, has called on members to support his administration in moving the body forward.

Yusuf said the association is blessed with accomplished individuals who have distinguished themselves both in football and other professional fields, stressing that their collective experience should be harnessed for the development of the organisation.

He made the appeal during an interview with journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital, while speaking on preparations for the inauguration ceremony scheduled for tomorrow.

According to him, activities marking the event will begin with a friendly football match against Ijesha Soccer Ambassador before the formal inauguration at the Ondo State Sports Council Multipurpose Hall.

“We are going to play a friendly match against Ijesha Soccer Ambassador before moving to the Ondo State Sports Council Multipurpose Hall for the inauguration,” Yusuf said.

The president dismissed reports of any internal crisis within the association, insisting that members only needed to demonstrate greater commitment to its growth and development.

He urged all members to attend the inauguration in person and rally behind the new executive council.

“We are there as an executive because members gave us their mandate and we will ensure that we justify the trust reposed in us by surpassing the achievements of our predecessors,” he said.

“Our predecessors tried in their own way, but we are determined to expand the Ondo State Veterans All Stars platform beyond the expectations of our members.”

Yusuf acknowledged that disagreements were inevitable in any organisation but appealed to aggrieved members to prioritise the association’s collective interest above personal grievances.

“Yes, there is no way a man can walk without moving his head. If there is anyone with reservations about the executive, I plead with them to place the love of the association above any grievances they may be nursing,” he added.

“The association belongs to all of us. We are here today and will surely leave one day, so I seek the cooperation of all members.”
