Elite FC on Tuesday thrashed Real Ifon 3-0 in the match day two of the ongoing second Edition of Bet9ja Ondo State Football League, while Ashysam FC also defeated Royal Godwin 2-0 in the Super Eight competition matches both decided at the Ondo State Sports complex,Akure.
The results of the matchday two meant that both teams had qualified for the semi finals scheduled for Thursday.
The first semi finals will have Ijapo Ages Stars FC lock horns with Raw Gold, while Elite FC will be up against Ashysam FC in the second semi final match.
In a chat with newsmen , the Team Manager of Elite FC, Oluwatobiloba Ajani, thanked God for the victory.
Ajani said that his players played according to game plan by absorbing pressure from their opponent in the first half while they came all out against them in the second half which worked perfectly for us.
He commended the organisers for organizing one the best competition in the state, saying,”the officiating is superb, but their is always room for improvement.”
Assistant Coach of Real Ifon, Saheed Atiku, said it was a good game from both sides, saying,” in every competition winner must emerge.”
He said: “We are on the losing side today, there is nothing we can do about that, tomorrow may be ours.
“Our players performed excellently, we lost concentration because of the penalty awarded against us which really affected the morale of the players.”
The Assistant Coach of Ashysam FC, Omoyele Adeniran described the encounter as very tough despite defeating his opponent 2-0.
He commended the match officials for the job well done, adding that his side will prepare well for the semi final on Thursday.
“I believe my team will do well in our next match, we are going to defeat any team that come our way next.”he said.
The Royal Goldwin Team Manager promised to improve in future competitions, noting that the competition was hos team’s first attempt in the Ondo State Football league.
