In a radiant display of unity, empathy, and interfaith harmony, Egbe Atunluse Initiatives under the distinguished leadership of Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola joined Muslim faithful in Akure for this year’s Eid El-Kabir prayers. The prayer ground, drenched in spiritual energy and community warmth, witnessed the convergence of hearts across religious divides, proving once again that humanity thrives when walls fall and bridges rise.
The spiritual gathering, held at the Eid ground in Akure, was graced by eminent personalities, including the Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Akeem Yayi Akorede, who led the congregation in solemn prayer. Also in attendance were the Deji of Akure Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, and the Akure South Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Fasua Gbenga Donald, whose presence lent the occasion the scent of unity and royal dignity.
Delivering his sermon with measured eloquence and spiritual clarity, the Chief Imam commended the Chairman of Egbe Atunluse for leading his group to observe the sacred rites of Eid with the Muslim faithful. He described the gesture as “a testament to the binding cord of unity and peaceful coexistence that Egbe Atunluse has always stood for,” urging others to emulate such noble conduct.
Speaking with journalists after the prayer session, Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola reaffirmed the commitment of Egbe Atunluse to promoting religious harmony, describing religion as a “cloak of diverse colours, designed by the Almighty to beautify humanity, not divide it.” He stressed that the organization believes firmly in the strength of a united people, regardless of religious affiliations.
Reflecting on the spiritual essence of Eid El-Kabir, Otunba Akinbobola highlighted the values of obedience, sacrifice, and communal peace as vital lessons. “This celebration reminds us to listen to the voice of God, to live harmoniously, and to embody the spirit of love and giving,” he noted with the tone of a leader who walks his talk.
In a seamless transition from prayer to action, the group—still wrapped in the fragrance of devotion—marched to the center of Akure town where they engaged with the less privileged, sharing meals, drinks, and various gift items. Like rivers flowing to thirsty land, the outreach effort brought joy, relief, and smiles to the faces of many who often live on the fringes of society’s attention.
Addressing the excited gathering, Elder Sikiru Adetona Conway, Director General of the organization, conveyed heartfelt greetings from the leadership of Egbe Atunluse. He assured the beneficiaries that they remain a core part of the group’s mission and will continue to receive support whenever opportunities arise. “Our love for you is not seasonal; it is constant like the sun that never forgets to rise,” he declared.
The event, marked by drumming, laughter, and heartfelt gratitude, painted a picture of a society still very capable of kindness. It was more than just a celebration—it was a statement, loud and clear, that compassion knows no religion, and that power lies in serving those who can’t repay.
As Egbe Atunluse continues to plant seeds of unity and nurture them with action, the message resounds across Akure and beyond—that the true measure of a people’s greatness lies not in their wealth or titles, but in their capacity to lift others as they rise.
