The Ondo State Chapter of Association of Mobile Phone Technicians (AMPTECH) has inaugurated a new executive that will pilot the affairs of the association.
The Association inaugurated the 4th set of executives of the association created in 2004, to direct the affairs of the Association while the new President, Mr Favour Adesida received the mantle of office from the outgone President, Mr Akinola Ige.
The exercise which was held at Olukayode car park, Akure, the Ondo state capital,attracted members from across the eighteen local government areas of the state and beyond.
According to Adesida,AMPTECH was established in Ondo state in 2004 to control illegality and quackery in the state.
He said that the association would move towards sanitizing the association and make sure members were trained and retrained within and outside the country.
“I will try to change what is happening and make it a better association and call attention of government so that our people will benefit from government policies and also I will ensure loans are given to our members at a better rate,” he said.
Adesida later advised his members on the importance of not flashing anybody’s phone without first seeing their receipts.
The outgoing President, Mr Ige who lauded the support of members during his tenure, said he believed that the new executives would continue from where he stopped to achieve the association’s mandate.
The former Secretary to the State Government,Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi (Tuykana) said he was happy that the association made themselves united.
Oluwatuyi advised them to do something that had not happened before.
He said : The association are great facilltator of the economy, without you, many things will be dragging all over the world.”
He later urged them to be updating themselves by bringing experts to always update them quarterly.
Also,former Commissioner in Ondo State, Hon Kunle Asaolu, said he was happy with the association because without making a call in a day, will be like fish outside water.
No fewer than 26 members of executives received their certificates to serve the association at the State and Zonal level for the next four years.
