A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress APC in Ondo State, Otunba Dele Ologbese has described the transfer of power to the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa as Governor in acting capacity as total respect to the rule of law and the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Ologbese, in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Akure the State capital, commended the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, for his intervention in returning peace to Ondo State through his blunt directive.
He described the president as a true lover of peace and stunt believer in rule of law, which he sworn to protect and nurture to fruition in Nigeria.
He said: “We must thank President Ahmed Tinubu for his good sense of judgements for not allowing himself to be swayed by emotions, rhetorics, blatant lies and crude propaganda of certain Akeredolu’s aides, whose desperation to foist a crony on the people as Governor in 2025 isn’t hidden”.
The president in a meeting with prominent party leaders in Abuja on Monday had directed the Ondo State House of Assembly to transmit power to the State’s Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa as acting Governor pending the time the Governor will return from his medical leave and be fully fit to govern the state.
It’s understandable that Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has been battling with health issues in the last few months, which made him unable to perform his constitutional duties.
Ologbese while advising the Acting Governor not to be vindictive nor engage in vendetta against his passive opponents, saying as leader he should carry everyone along in moving the state forward, he must not also hesitate in removing any one who did not have the interests of the state at heart.
He added that the good people of Ondo State will heave sigh of relief with the power transmitted to a highly transparent, reliable, unassuming, efficient, ebullient, proactive, cerebral, and highly resourceful personality, Orimisan Aiyedatiwa who’s expected to use his vast skills in private sector and governance to liberate Ondo State from misrule of political vultures in corridors of power.
His words:”There is no doubt that the Acting Governor will face herculean tasks in cleaning the aegean table through strong resistance of the cabals who are poised in protecting their self-serving interests. He must be highly resolute and dogged in dismantling evil cabals strongholds or powers as springboard towards total emancipation of Ondo State and its people from oppressions and political opportunism.”
“To make positive impacts in governance to the admiration of good people of Ondo State, Mr Acting governor has no option than to speedly take some divisive steps or actions in cleaning all rots in the systems by blocking all loopholes of illegal funds diversions into private pockets and equally make changes in his cabinet when necessary towards achieving smooth and efficient administrations.”
