Ondo State Inducts 109 New Administrative Officers Into Public Service

Ondo State has formally inducted 109 newly recruited administrative officers into its Public Service, marking what authorities described as an unprecedented development in the state’s history.

Speaking at the induction programme held at the State Public Service Training Institute, Ilara-Mokin, the Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, noted that recruiting such a large number of officers at once signals a renewed commitment to strengthening the service for greater efficiency.

Philip commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving the recruitment at a crucial period when the service required repositioning for improved performance. He urged the new officers to demonstrate competence, discipline, and dedication, emphasizing that the administrative cadre carries significant responsibilities and leadership expectations.

According to him, the induction programme is designed to equip the officers with the ethical and professional knowledge needed to navigate their careers successfully within the Public Service.

“You are here today benefiting from the benevolence of Mr. Governor,” he said. “The last set of officers in this cadre was recruited in 2016, so we must appreciate Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for granting this opportunity. You were not enrolled into this rank to become lazy officers. Other cadres will look up to you for guidance, conduct, and character, so you must not lose sight of the expectations placed on you.”

Also speaking, Prince Ajose Kudehinbu, Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission and a former Head of Service, congratulated the inductees and encouraged them to make a positive impact in their various postings. He added that the induction was intended to familiarize them with the work environment and ensure a seamless transition into service.

The Chairman of the State Forum of Permanent Secretaries and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Chief Segun Odusanya, expressed appreciation to the governor for approving the large intake. He expressed optimism that the addition would bring about a significant improvement in service delivery across the state.
