Reciprocate Govt. kind Gesture, RUGIPO AG.Rector Adegun Charges Workers

The Ag.Rector, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Mr.Adegun Simon Olorunwa , urged the Polytechnic Community to reciprocate the kind gestures offered to members of staff in the Institution by the Governor of Ondo State and Visitor to our noble citadel of learning, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

He made the call while addressing members of staff during the Rector/ Staff forum held on Thursday, 29th February, 2024 at the Adekunle Ajasin Auditorium.

The Ag. Rector, in his address, said that there are obvious and convincing reasons for us as workers in the Polytechnic to irrevocably believe that things are evidently getting better now with the fulfilled promises of our dear Governor.

According to him, he said between January and February 2024, the Governor had paid 4 months  out of the arrears of salary owed by the State Government. “Let us keep hope alive and be more dedicated to our jobs since we now have a Governor that accedes to the pleas of the workforce in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.”

He took time to enumerate a few of his achievements since he became the Ag. Rector with his Management team. These achievements are all out to better the welfare of both staff and students in the Institution. He catalogued his short term, medium term and long term efforts to widen the Institution’s internally generated revenue.

He opined that  he  has revived the lnstitution’s  business ventures and as at today the Guest House is now a behive of activities, the Bakery is fully back and   producing mouth- watering loaves of bread and the bottled water produced in our Water Factory is rapidly assuming a state wide dimension.

The Climate Change Centre ,which is a global initiative ,is not left out as well as massive involvement in agriculture and plans on decent hostel accommodation take a prime concern to his administration.

RUGIPO is witnessing a new dawn. The image is coming up and that the hospitality of the Institution to the host communities and the public at large is in the offing.

He unfolded the plans of his administration to hold a merged convocation ceremony sometimes in April 2024, since the last one was held in 2013.

In response, and unprecedented, the union leaders eulogised the Visitor to the Institution and Governor of Ondo State for keeping to his promises and having paid 4 months within 2 months, a song was composed for Hon.Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa reflecting his concerns for the welfare of RUGIPO staff. The Ag.Rector, Mr. Adegun Simon Olorunwa, was equally commended for offering leadership at all times and for being a result oriented personality.

While reacting to responses from some of the staff, the Ag. Rector assured them that the Institution will soon be fully automated and most of the things agitated for will be in place by the end of the first quarter of the year.

The entire workforce promised to cooperate with him in the handling of the affairs of the Institution and to also support the administration of our friendly Governor and Visitor to the Polytechnic.

It was a gathering of joy and prayers for the Governor of Ondo State and that it is hoped that Mr. Governor will sustain the tempo for the Institution.

In the annals of Rector/Staff forum in the Institution it has never been so glamorous.

The forum was with a huge attendance and all the Management Team were also in attendance.
